We are searching for a Boiler Fireman for our power dept. Responsibilities include operating a coal boiler. Rotating shifts & weekend work req’d. Must have Ohio State License and coal boiler exp pref. Current pay $21.29 plus shift diff; full benefits. Required to demonstrate skills and team work.

Natl Conf of Firemen and Oilers, Local 7 Second shift coverage, start 1330 and end 2130, work 6 days on and then have 2 days off OT >8hr/day or 40 hr/week, DT on Sunday

Operate 60,000 lb/hr stoker coal-fired boiler

• Bring boiler up and get it on line

• Operate and maintain mechanical equipment supplying steam to the entire plant

• Maintain stoker feed control for proper distribution of coal on grates for combustion and load control

• Observe meters, gauges, and combustion controls, regulating valve to determine efficient operating conditions of equipment.

Maintenance and repair during outages

• Punch and replace grates

• Scrape and clinker tubes and walls

• Inspect air fans and ducts

• Clean wind box

Record operating data on daily log sheets

Perform testing of water for proper chemical feed and boiler operation

Oversee chemical feed operations

Adjust blow downs

Minor maintenance and repairs to equipment

Maintain lubrication of boiler room equipment – conveyors (60’ high), bearings, shafts, etc.

Operate vacuum system to pull ashes, operate ash unloader (ash into roll off)

Oversee delivery of coal that may occur on second shift

*Must possess Ohio State Boilers License

*Previous Coal Boiler experience a must

*Must be able to work rotating shift and weekends
